We’re three days post U.S. Election and judging from the Facebook posts and the general mood of those around me, I think we could all use a little pixie dust!zoe_princess_makeup

In effort to celebrate Miss Zoe turning 3 without it being overshadowed by packing, our move, the U.S, election, or the entire Christmas season, we threw her the baddest Princess party 6 weeks in advance of her actual birthday. You’re welcome babe, it was truly our pleasure.princess caslte

Zoe has been talking about her 3rd birthday party since exactly one day after her 2nd birthday party, I kid you not. For the past year all we have heard is “at my Elsa castle” this, “my princess ball” that, she literally told us “I will have an ice castle” at my “birday”. In my true mom-mode form, I turned to “the Google” and found the most elaborate Princess Party company in the city and they delivered in spades. zoe princess elsa

I don’t think Zoe said two words the entire party, I think her mind was just taking it all in. Elsa was present of course, she helped all the kids select their princess gown and gave them sparkle lipgloss and nail polish #mindblown. We (all the parents) watched as the Princess parade commenced and each of the little prince and princesses were announced by name, and then, Zoe was crowned during her Royal Coronation by Elsa herself.princess elsa coronation

The best part for me was seeing Zoe bursting with happiness, this truly was her birthday wish. She was literally the belle of the ball and all her little friends helped her celebrate in excellent style. Every child in attendance was fully engaged for TWO HOURS.Elsa singing

Zoe and her friends really enjoyed the experience but I’m pretty certain there were a number of adults in attendance that enjoyed it just as much, if not more!Elsa on stage

I haven’t thrown Zoe an elaborate party until now, and I have to admit I was feeling a bit guilty about the whole thing. The extravagance, the money, but as soon as I saw her little smile my concerns melted away. This truly is what dreams are made of. Elsa Blowing candles

This party really was the one of Zoe’s dreams, Princess Elsa, pizza and a donut cake. If you’ve known Zoe for any length of time, you’ll know that she’s never met a donut she didn’t like. I’m not a big fan of cake or wasting money, and so donuts were the perfect answer and very well received by the kiddos. #patsselfonthebackPrincess Elsa

Soif you’re still reeling from the results of the U.S. election I hope this little bit of childhood innocence can help alleviate your pain for few minutes. What I took away from this day celebrating Zoe, is that life is short and it’s good so we really do need to embrace and make it count. I would do throw this party every weekend if it meant watching my Zoebug be enchanted and as happy as she was on this day. Happy (early) birthday baby girl.
