Every year when Groundhog Day rolls around we are either celebrating one thing or two. Today my Grama (and Zoe’s namesake) turned 78 years young! Wireton Willie predicts 6 more weeks of winter while Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow and is looking forward to an early spring. Even though I live in Canada, I’m going to go ahead and put my faith in Punxsutawney Phil and start my countdown to warmer temps coming are way sooner than later, hence today we are celebrating TWO things: my amazing Grama and spring coming early, huzzah! groundhog day and a birthday bash

We didn’t throw a big birthday bash, but we did have a mid week girls’ night out to celebrate one of the most amazing ladies in my life. She has helped raise me, she has taught me how to dance, she has cheered me on at many games and races, she has hosted sleepovers and she has taught me how to bake, she is an incredible lady. When I say 78 years young I truly mean it, she has more energy than I do and sadly (for me) her social calendar is way more eventful than mine, she’s never home. I am so thrilled to celebrate her today and I love chatting with her and hearing about her bingo nights and breakfast dates and getting her review of every new movie that she has seen. I am beyond happy to see her living life to the fullest and enjoying retirement. I hope I have as active of a life as she does when I’m 78.

In a couple of weeks we’re heading to Cuba for my cousin’s wedding and of course Grama is coming, I can’t wait to hit up the resort with her and spend far too many hours laughing so hard my cheeks hurt.

Happy birthday to you Gram, may we celebrate many many more. You are so loved.
