Happy 2015 y’all!
I hope the holidays were good to you and that your 2015 is off to a fantastic start. I took a little hiatus from blogging for the past month, traveling during Christmas with two little ones, on top of all the Christmas festivities was just not conducive to blog writing.
So here were are, a whirlwind of a month later and it’s a new year, a fresh start.
I can’t say that I’m a big resolutions maker, however, one “habit’ that I am going to work really hard on in 2015 (and onward) is being more present with my kiddos and keeping my iPhone away when I’m with them. Let’s be honest, time is flying by and my babies are only going to be my babies for so long. Sometimes the days seems l.o.n.g. and I just don’t want to play another round of “the big bad wolf” or build another Lego tower and so I’d whip out my iPhone and mindlessly surf Facebook, Instagram, misc. blogs etc. And then I catch myself and I feel instantly guilty. Simply put, there is nothing on any social media platform or website that is more important to me than my kids, and I don’t want them to think otherwise, not even for one second.
So, 2015 is the year I put aside my iPhone and play with my kids, talk with my kids and just be present. There are many hours in the day that I’m not with my kids and so that’s when I’ll allow myself the break. It’s not going to be easy, but I’m certain it’ll be worth it.
We’ll make a few more forts, host many more dance parties (hopefully no more knockouts), and whip up a few more fun breakfasts!
Not a resolution per se, but a much needed lifestyle change. Did you make any resolutions?
2015, the year of more in person connected-ness!
